Classification of hyperspectral imaging in real-time
IOSB software classifies spectral material data efficiently and simplifies winning reference signatures. With the help of an Cubert UHD 285 the Fraunhofer IOSB developes a software for the material detection. This evaluation procedure delivers an easy way to a broad date base for varied kinds of applications.

How does the IOSB sectralfinder software work?
First select a material type with the user interface. The system marks all occurrences of the select material in the regular image sequence. Parameters vary the similarities. The monochromatic as well as the imaging data are processed efficiently. In this way spectra which are typical for the searched objects can be identified. Applications could be the search of mineral resources, the mineral mapping or the monitoring in agriculture and forestry. The resolution of the Cubert camera is suitable for the contactless material analysis. Even optical very similar materials can be distinguished robustly. The camera technology generates precise data in a very large quantity why it requires at the evaluation of an innovative software. The Fraunhofer IOSB permanently searches on new evaluation methods. What objectives are pursued with the IOSB spectral finder and which part has got Cubert´s camera?
In the field of remote sensing we would say that areal mapping is the main amendment. At the same time the spreading of interesting materials can be identified and analysed secondarily in the image. The advantage of the Cubert camera lies clearly in the full-frame imaging without registration. The sensor can be operated stationarily. Low size and weight permit a fast and mobile use.
How do you assess the need of research to reaching reference signatures?
The utilization of the HS data and a simple parameter setting is in the foreground. Field spectrometers provide high resolute reference signatures which can be used for the evaluation of HS videos. A further research is necessary to make methods more robust and increase the serviceability.
What is the use of the technology, e. g. regarding to applications in remote sensing?
A lot is possible: The indication of the respective results in real-time supports the user e.g. at the choice of a classification method. For the local area photogrammetry the HS video camera of Cubert is a valuable addition.
